NOTICE
Regarding the Responsibilities of Merchants and Logistics Service Providers in Providing Goods Documentation during Delivery
The term “carrier” refers to intermediary transport units collaborating with Paragon to transport goods to customers, such as Viettel Post, DHL, GHN, GHYK, J&T, Vietnam Post, and local carriers.
Carrier’s Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the complete and safe transportation of goods to the specified location within the agreed-upon timeframe.
2. Deliver goods to the authorized recipient.
3. Settle transportation-related expenses as per the agreement.
4. Compensate the shipper for damages in case of loss or damage to the goods, except in cases of alternative agreements or legal provisions.
Carrier’s Rights:
1. Authenticate goods, bills of lading, or equivalent transport documents.
2. Refuse to transport goods that do not match the agreed-upon type of property in the contract.
3. Request timely payment of transportation fees from the shipper.
4. Refuse to transport prohibited goods, hazardous or harmful goods.
Shipper’s Responsibilities:
1. Pay the full transportation fee to the carrier within the agreed-upon timeframe and method.
2. Provide necessary information related to transported goods to ensure their safety during transportation.
Shipper’s Rights:
1. Request the carrier to transport goods to the agreed-upon location and timeframe.
2. Directly or designate a third party to receive the transported goods.
Liability for Compensation:
– The carrier is obligated to compensate for losses incurred by the shipper in case of loss or damage to the goods.
– The shipper must compensate for damages to the carrier and third parties due to the transportation of hazardous or harmful goods without proper packaging to ensure safety during transportation.
– In cases of force majeure leading to the loss, damage, or destruction of goods during transportation, the carrier is not responsible for compensation, except in cases of alternative agreements or legal provisions.
